Let’s talk about hair. The stuff on your legs, arms… and yes, your beautiful face.
I’ve gotten more accepting of stubble and not having perfectly smooth legs all the time. Honestly? That’s just me being lazy. But here’s the thing, I do like the look of being “well kept.” My underarm hair? Never going to grow out. And lately, I decided my forearm hair has to go too. No idea why we women decide these things, but clearly my fear of looking “manly” outweighed not trying to fit society’s idea of beauty.
At this stage, “hairless” doesn’t just mean legs and armpits, it means the face too. Every woman has facial hair. And no, we’re not werewolves. Chin and lip hair? Totally normal at any age. Whether you decide to keep it or remove it is completely up to you.
I have a lot of facial hair. Little soft blonde peach fuzz, but I am not a fan of it. I am not at the dermaplaning stage yet, but I do shave my upper lip daily and pluck random chin hairs weekly.

I’ve found some products that actually work for me and I use them with success. You’re free to try them too, no matter your age.

I love my Pop Sonic facial shaver. It completely removes any mustache hairs that appear without any irritation. It leaves my face so smooth. I use it daily. If you are still getting you lip waxed, give it up, and try this instead. It works so much better and with no irritation what-so-ever. Tip: It’s also good for finger and toe hair. Yep, women have that too.

Tweezers are lifesavers. Quick pinch, gone, and no more hairs. No judgment, no appointments, just a tiny tool that I use obsessively. They are satisfying in a very “oh, I’ve got to pluck this” kind of way. Perfect for that random neck hair that is 1/2 of an inch long before you see it.
I have a tendency to lose my tweezers. Actually, I know that people steal them from me for splinter removal and crafting. So I always keep two on hand.
Tweezerman brand is the gold standard. They are high quality and professional. Plus this Evening Blue pair is really pretty.

Now lets talk about razors.
They are so expensive! Really expensive, so I understand why you would hunt for the best value rather than the best quality. I no longer do that. I go ahead and shell out way too much for the good razors. I am sick of bloody nicks and dull rusty razors. I reach for quality because to me, it makes a difference.
The BEST razor: Venus Moistureglide Women’s Razor, Reusable Handle, 2 Razor Blade Refills and Shower Holder

Venus Moisture glide Women’s Razor, is a phenomenal razor. Such a smooth shave with one swipe. No nicks or irritation. No razor burn (and my skin is super sensitive to that). One of these can last a month (or two) or longer for me. I think it’s the best razor out there for a few reasons.
First, you don’t even need to use shaving cream. I swipe it right under my arms with no shaving cream or conditioner needed. Straight to the skin.
Second, it’s perfect for traveling, because once again, no shaving cream needed and it holds up well.
Third, it just does exactly what it should: leaves your skin smooth without ever getting nicks. It is the best… but if you want a more affordable option with a similar quality, I’ve been using the Target knockoff for a while now, and it’s hands-down my go-to affordable razor.

I guess, the more we show that being hairy is normal, the less pressure we’ll feel to get rid of it. And that’s one less thing for women to worry about.
Until then… I guess I’m shaving.
