just me, and my fall flavor obsession that isn’t pumpkin…
there’s my other fall obsession, cranberries and walnuts. I don’t even know why, but that combo feels so romantically fall. I want it everywhere. Tucked into bread, baked into muffins, sprinkled over salads. Especially salads. If you want the perfect fall salad, here’s the one: a mixed greens base, sliced apples, cranberries, walnuts, a sprinkle of goat cheese crumbles, and Fuji apple vinaigrette drizzled on top. Yum. It’s fresh, tangy, crunchy, sweet… basically autumn in a bowl.

Pumpkin spice who? 🍎 Fall is ALL about apples.

Everyone thinks pumpkin spice is the official flavor of fall. The moment September rolls in, it’s all pumpkin lattes, pumpkin bread, pumpkin candles. But honestly? That doesn’t impress me much. My true fall trigger isn’t pumpkin, it’s apples. Give me all the apples, in every form, all season long.

The very first time I spot caramel apples in the grocery stores at the end of August, they’re in my cart. No hesitation. And let me tell you, they stay in my cart until they disappear in November. Caramel just feels like fall. Something about that hot, sticky sweetness sings the season to me. Suddenly, I’m craving a McDonald’s hot caramel sundae after dinner, because why not? That little swirl of caramel feels like fall in a sticky cup.

And cinnamon? Cinnamon is a must. Cinnamon + apple is the ultimate win-win. When I saw a giant container of Cinnamon Apple Donuts at Costco, I didn’t think twice. They were coming home with me. Do I need 12 donuts? Absolutely not. Do I need 12 Cinnamon Apple Donuts? Oh yes, yes I do.

Fall also means tea season for me. A cozy cup of caramel or cinnamon tea in the evening, enjoyed out on the front porch with that first cool breeze, feels dreamy.

Bengal Tea in particular is a favorite because it’s warm, spicy, and just a little exotic. Add a splash of milk and it’s perfection. If you’re not a tea person, trust me on this one: Bengal Tea might just change your mind.

So no, I don’t need pumpkin anything. But give me apple everything this fall and I’ll be one happy girl.

I’m Kristin

aka Kiki, a dreamer, doer, and daydream decorator living in Louisville, Kentucky. I share my home with my husband, our college-age daughter, and two high maintenance landlords named Magnolia and Briar.

By day, I juggle multiple part-time jobs, including working for a home staging and design company and by night, I scroll through dreamy real estate listings and Hampton private chefs Instagram and imagine the life I’d live if I lived there.

Welcome to just me, living here a space where I pretend to be the homeowner and designer of beautiful homes that are (sadly) not mine. I create mood boards, and design ideas, all while living my very real, very ordinary life in my own home.

Some days I might be me showcasing a multi-million dollar riverfront stunner, and the next it’s just me… sharing my favorite products, throwing together dinner, ordering mocktails, eating bread or planting radishes (that nobody eats).

This blog is my love letter to the life I dream about and the real one I live. It’s part inspiration, part pretend, and part practical. A little home design, a little gardening, a little cooking, a little drinking, and a whole lot of honest living.

Thanks for being here, it means a lot to a girl with big dreams, a lot of love to share and a messy little house. 🌿✨
